Metal Slug 3 On PS4… SNK To Release More Classics In The Future

SNK Playmore has recently announced the release of Metal Slug 3 on PS4, Vita (PlayStation TV) and PS3 with further plans to release more Neo Geo classics to the PSN platform. A specific date wasn’t set but they alluded to it’s release being in the near future. They made the announcement via their representative, Adam Laatz, on the Playstation Blog website.

Metal Slug 3 is the gruesomely spastic, sci-fi themed, side scrolling militaristic shooter three-qual originally released in 2000 for the Neo-Geo MVS arcade platform. Though the game was a predictable step for the series it still remains as a cult classic along side with the first two iterations of the game.

In addittion to the announcent, SNK Playmore also intends to release more SNK/NEOGEO classics via a community driven fan based voting ballot. The poll can be found on the Playstation Blog. Below are the current nominees up for re-release.

ART OF FIGHTING 2
FATAL FURY SPECIAL
GAROU: MARK OF THE WOLVES
THE KING OF FIGHTERS ’97
THE KING OF FIGHTERS 2000
THE LAST BLADE 2
METAL SLUG X
NEO TURF MASTERS
REAL BOUT FATAL FURY 2: THE NEWCOMERS
SAMURAI SHODOWN II
SAMURAI SHODOWN V SPECIAL
SENGOKU 3
SHOCK TROOPERS: 2nd SQUAD
TWINKLE STAR SPRITES
THE ULTIMATE 11: SNK FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Nothing was mentioned about any possible extra features like online leader boards or online multiplayer but we can probably assume that none of that shit is happening since they didn’t mention it. Oh well, back to MAMEhub.
