At a recent showcase, Dutch Pinball invited PAPA (The Professional & Amateur Pinball Association) to stop by their presidential hotel suite to play their early alpha build of The Big Lebowski pinball table. A handful of PAPA staff took turns playing the table, exploring it’s various game modes and sound bites.
In it’s current alpha state, there aren’t many video animatics and the game rules are not yet fully fleshed out. Despite that, the soundtrack, the audio, the theme, and the flow of the table all seem to be in amazing shape. The game play seems smooth, reminiscent of the older Bally/Williams tables and less vengeful and penalizing than a lot of the modern Stern tables. One of the coolest features of the table is the built in mini-bowling lane inside of the table, complete with functional pins.
